Brownell Libary Spellin' Teem Competes in VT Humanities Council Spelling Bee

On March 8th, members from Brownell Library's Teen Advisory Board took their spelling skills to the Vermont Humanities Council 4th Annual Spelling Bee.
The team put itself through grueling team practices and studied words like "ketoglutaric" and "mannitol" in order to prepare for the event.
By participating, the teams raised $550 in sponsorships from The Burlington Free Press and Paul, Frank, and Collins that will go directly to help fund literacy programs around the state. The Brownell Library had two teams, each with three members, in a field of 42 teams. Each team was called the "Brownell Libary Spellin' Teem."
Although neither team took the trophy, each did extremely well only missing three words out of ten. The Brownell teams were, however, the best dressed by far, adorned with team T-shirts made during our practices. We were so eyecatching, infact, that we landed ourselves on the 6 o'clock news! A terrific event and a terrific job done by all involved! NICE JOB SPELLERZ!
